Meridian for iPhone · iOS 17 or later
Write to hello@mobily.io and a person who worked on the app will answer. If you are already a beta tester, sending feedback from inside TestFlight is even better — it attaches your device details and a screenshot automatically.
Joining the beta
How do I get in?
Email hello@mobily.io with the email address attached to your Apple ID — that is the address a TestFlight invitation can reach. We will send an invite link back. Install Apple’s free TestFlight app first, then open the link and tap Install.
The invite never arrived
Two things account for almost every missing invite. First, check the junk folder for a message from Apple, not from us. Second — and far more often — the invite must go to the address your device is signed in with under Settings → your name → Media & Purchases. That is frequently a different address from the one you use for everyday email. Send us the right one and we will re-invite you.
The build is not showing in TestFlight
TestFlight lists builds for whichever Apple ID is signed in for the App Store on that device, which is the Media & Purchases address above. If you are signed in with a different Apple ID than the one we invited, the build will not appear. Pull down to refresh the TestFlight list as well — new builds can take a few minutes to surface.
My build expired
TestFlight builds expire after 90 days, and an older build is retired when a newer one reaches your group. Open TestFlight and install the current build; if none is offered, tell us and we will check the group.
Alarms
My alarm arrived as a notification instead of ringing
Meridian rings real, full-screen system alarms — the kind that sound through silent mode and Focus — but that requires iOS 26 or later on your iPhone and a build compiled against the iOS 26 SDK. On earlier versions of iOS the app falls back to a notification, which silent mode and Focus can suppress.
To see which one you are on, open Settings → Alarms inside Meridian. The “Alarm engine” row reads either Real alarms or Notifications, and the footer records what the alarm system last did. There is also a button that rings a test alarm about 75 seconds later, which is the fastest way to check.
Nothing rings at all
Check that notifications are allowed for Meridian — the Alarms section in Settings shows this and offers a shortcut to iOS Settings if they are off. If you are on iOS 26, the first alarm may also ask for alarm permission; allow it.
Will an alarm survive a daylight-saving change?
Yes. An alarm is stored against the wall clock of the city it was set in, not against a fixed offset, so “18:00 in London” stays 18:00 in London when the clocks change — and the time it rings for you moves instead, which is the correct behaviour. Alarms are one-shot; there is no recurrence yet.
Widgets
My widget’s time looks stale
Widget times are pre-baked one entry per minute and aligned to the top of the minute, so they should change as the minute changes. If a widget looks stuck, remove it and add it again — that forces a fresh timeline. iOS also governs how often any widget may refresh, so during very low battery or Low Power Mode updates can lag.
The widget is showing the wrong city
Widgets follow the primary city you set in the app. Change the primary city on the Cities screen and the widget follows — there is nothing to re-add.
People and time zones
I added someone but they vanished
This was a bug in early beta builds and is fixed. Make sure you are on the current build — Settings → About shows a “Built” timestamp, and if it is older than the last build you installed, you are running a stale copy.
I cannot find my city
Search runs in three tiers: a curated shortlist, then a table of 211 airport and city codes, then every time zone your phone knows. Try the airport code — SFO and SF both find San Francisco. Very small places may not be listed by name; pick the nearest large city in the same zone, which keeps the time correct.
Why does a city show a different name than I typed?
Places beyond the app’s own two tables are named after their time zone, so a handful read as the zone’s main city rather than the name you searched. The time is still right.
The watch
The bezel will not turn
Only the 24-hour, dive and world-time bezels rotate — fluted and polished dress bezels are fixed, as they are on a real watch. Grab the ring itself rather than the middle of the dial: the middle is left free so the page still scrolls under your finger.
I cannot feel the clicks
Check that Settings → Bezel → Rotation haptics is on, and that System Haptics is enabled in iOS Settings → Sounds & Haptics. The click sound is separate and follows the silent switch.
The lume never comes on
Set the lume mode to After sunset or Always in the dial customiser. “After sunset” is computed for your time zone, so it will not glow at noon. The moon button on the clock screen forces it on, or snoozes it for twelve hours.
Privacy
Meridian collects nothing — no accounts, no servers, no analytics, no third-party code. The full detail is on the privacy policy page.
Still stuck?
Email hello@mobily.io. It helps to include your iOS version, the “Built” timestamp from Settings → About, and what you expected to happen.
